GIBBS Happy Mail

I had my good buddy Lisa for my partner on this happy mail swap.  Among her wishes were notecards and a pin cushion.  I made the pincushion by filled a small mason jar with sand and then stuffed a pin cushion into it.  I covered that with a piece of purple butterfly-pattern material - purple and butterflies are her fave - and then added lace a pearls with hot glue.  The decoration glued on the front is an earring costume jewelry earring, pulled apart.  I hope she gets alot of use out of it, and thinks of me as she uses it!

Then I made her some note cards - and used my wonderful new little Janome mini-sew to zig zag stitch on them.  To hold the note cards, I took a cigar box and folded some TH paper to make little compartments to hold the cards, a pen, and some stamps.  I tied it all up with purple butterflies cut with my Silhouette.
Enjoy Lisa!

MY THRIFT STORE FIND

I was out thrift store shopping with my friend the other day and found a treasure!  I found this old cabinet, and thought it was very cool looking because it was "vintage" and just had to have it.  (YES, it fit far enough into the trunk of a Honda Accord - just barely)

Once I got it home and into place, it suddenly seemed old and not "vintage".  Soooo, I sanded down the rusty spots, cleaned and cleaned, and covered the fronts of the drawers - painstakingly! - with shabby chic contact paper.  I loooove how it turned out.  Enough of the "old" shows through but it's cute to me now.  AND, I can't even begin to tell you how much it holds!  Love it

FATHER'S DAY!!!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY.... I made a card and an explosion box adorned with Tim goodies and Tim and Graphic 45 paper to hold my husband's Father's Day present. I love this combo - they just seem to go together. I got the G45 when I was back east visting my buddy, Denni. From Cape Cod to California for a card and box!

Card for my BFF

OK, feel like I'm really still sorting out my style. I think some of this card is my "newly found" style - I love the TH mannequin, and the paper, and the flowers. I think I really NEED that little rosette die tho. Yep, that's my next purchase.
This is a card I made for my BFF who had minor surgery yesterday. Just wanted to let her know I'm thinking of her. And who better to send a card to -- she always raves about everything!! Ah, what a good BFF!

Graphic 45

I love Graphic 45's springtime paper, and spent a lot of time just staring at it before using it. I made this card for my DIL and stepson. They just moved into their first house and I wanted something "home-y" and happy. Plus my DIL loves fairies so it worked out well.

ANOTHER Baby Album

I am loving making these baby albums. This is the cutest so far, I think. I made this one with chipboard, covered and then decorated. I bound it with my BIA.
The nursery was decorated in greens and browns and had a big monkey painted by his mom and dad on the wall - with his name "Bodie" across the wall. Was very cute.
