And I love it... out shopping with my friend again, and ran into this. I HAD to have it again - I was going to use it to store embellies and stuff, but when I really looked at it, I saw that it had many of the original shoe laces (10 cents!) and all the paper labels in tact, so just had to dust off and hang it on the wall as is.

GIBBS Happy Mail
I had my good buddy Lisa for my partner on this happy mail swap. Among her wishes were notecards and a pin cushion. I made the pincushion by filled a small mason jar with sand and then stuffed a pin cushion into it. I covered that with a piece of purple butterfly-pattern material - purple and butterflies are her fave - and then added lace a pearls with hot glue. The decoration glued on the front is an earring costume jewelry earring, pulled apart. I hope she gets alot of use out of it, and thinks of me as she uses it!
Then I made her some note cards - and used my wonderful new little Janome mini-sew to zig zag stitch on them. To hold the note cards, I took a cigar box and folded some TH paper to make little compartments to hold the cards, a pen, and some stamps. I tied it all up with purple butterflies cut with my Silhouette.
Enjoy Lisa!
MY THRIFT STORE FIND
I was out thrift store shopping with my friend the other day and found a treasure! I found this old cabinet, and thought it was very cool looking because it was "vintage" and just had to have it. (YES, it fit far enough into the trunk of a Honda Accord - just barely)
Once I got it home and into place, it suddenly seemed old and not "vintage". Soooo, I sanded down the rusty spots, cleaned and cleaned, and covered the fronts of the drawers - painstakingly! - with shabby chic contact paper. I loooove how it turned out. Enough of the "old" shows through but it's cute to me now. AND, I can't even begin to tell you how much it holds! Love it
